PCM Kicker - Database Wizard V0.7a (need this for basis)

rename first your old "c:\PCM Editor" folder to "c:\PCM EditorOLD"
than unpack the rar file to "c:\PCM Editor"

Import your old created databases with the new version


Short Install Note:
Note: (Its not an Installer - its a WinRar Package)

Left klick rar file and unpack it to "c:\PCM Editor" (Very important at the moment, dont forget the blank).

Start "PCM Kicker.exe".

There is a Workspace allready inside called "Default".

If you start a new project, press first 'CREATE NEW WORKSPACE' Button. A window opens, put in the name you like and press 'CREATE'. (wait 10 seconds for init all data).

Now choose 'OPEN DATABASE' and load an unpacked *.cdb file (only Database.cdb files). In root of PCM Kicker there is the latest database 1.4a unpacked. In textfield u can watch how the tool, split the full database to all tables and store it as hex-files and txt-files. (Never change anything - txt-files are scripts and hex are backups to put the database together).

Next step is 'CREATE ACCESS DATABASE' - here the tool only delete old db entries and clean the current database.


IMPORT:
Now you can choose on the left side a table and press 'IMPORT SELECTED TO ACCESS MDB' or 'IMPORT ALL TO ACCESS MDB'. So the data goes from the hex-file & txt-file-script into access database.

DATABASE WIZARD:
Wizard to help you increase the database.

EXPORT:
Left window: you can select a table, which you like to activated all your changes. Select and press 'UPDATE TABLE FOR CYANIDE DATABASE'. (WARNING!! At the moment only tables you can see in DATABASE WIZARD TAB are finished for this important step. Other tables brings yn error message or windows desktop!!!). If it works okay the table is now also in the right window.

Right window: Here are all tables you have updated. If you press 'CREATE NEW CYANIDE DATABASE (*.CDB)" the tool create a brand new database with your new settings. You can find the file in
C:\PCM Editor\CDB\#WORKSPACE#.cdb

Aber wenn ich die PCM Kicker.exe starten will kommt diese Fehlermeldung: "Die Komponente 'TABCTL32.OCX' oder eine iherer Abhängigkeiten ist nicht richtig registriert: Eine Datei fehlt oder ist ungültig"

Ich hab das ganze auch nach c:\PCM Editor entpackt, was nun?

Also das Tool läuft bei mir soweit gut, aber etwas geht bei mir nicht richtig: in der Tabelle DYN_cyclist kann ich unten die Anzahl Teams nicht erhöhen, es bleibt immer auf 1, also werden bei mir maximal 25 Fahrer hinzugefügt. Und wenn ich auf den Pfeil klicke um diese Anzahl zu erhöhen, will der Wizard die Records hinzufügen (was sonst der Insert Records-Button macht). Kannst du schauen ob das ein Bug ist, oder nur bei mir nicht geht?

Edit: Es geht wenn ich die 25 hinzufüge, die Id erhöhe und wieder hinzufüge, jetzt muss ich das halt so viel mal wiederholen, bis ich die gewünschte Anzahl Fahrer habe.
Edit2: Es werden nur 18 Fahrer pro mal hinzugefügt.

Ich hab das ganze auch nach c:\PCM Editor entpackt, was nun?

Such bei Google nach dieser Datei 'TABCTL32.OCX' und kopier sie in c:\windows\system\system32 rein. Kann sein das dann auch noch ne Fehlermeldung kommt mit noch so einer ähnlichen Datei. Hatte ich nämlich auch.

Kann mich glaube ich, und ich hoffe das ist richtig, daran erinnern, dass impish im alten Thread zu seinem Programm anmerkte, dass des für ihn fun sei und er keinen Support leisten wird.

Hoffe das richtig weiter zu geben, daher denke ich, dass zumindest von impish selber, nicht all zu viele Fragen beantwortet werden

Ist schon klar, aber wenn es eventuelle Bugs gibt, wird er wahrscheinlich froh sein, wenn wir sie ihm melden; er muss uns nachher ja nicht helfen, wenn er nicht will. Ausserdem habe ich ihn nicht gefragt HOW DOES IT WORK?

Edit: Habe jetzt das Tool ganz getestet, es funktioniert gut bis auf die obengenannte Sache (ist aber nur ein Schönheitsfehler).

impish ich hab das selbe problem. das liegt daran das ich keine festplatte mit dem laufwerkbuchstaben C habe und ich kann es auch nicht mehr ändern. und ausserdem hab ich kein deutsches windows, d.h. der ordner programme heisst bei mir program files.

kannst du mir vielleicht sagen wie ich es zum laufen bring?

danke impish dass du das tool veröffentlicht hast nun kann ich endlich alle etappen von meiner fantasy-tour-de-france einbauen ( sind nämlich 22 statt 21 etappen)

Danke ThunderBlaze! Aber mit dieser Lösung kann ich kein neues Workspace erstellen.

Hab jetzt was anderes ausprobiert: Hab die festplatte partitioniert und hab jetzt ein laufwerk mit C jetzt kann ich auch eine neue Workspace erstellen.
