Norway's ski talent Helene Marie Fossesholm, 17, has been hailed as "the new Marit Björgen".
Now the Norwegian ski association chooses to tell you about her background.
2014-2017, Fossesholm has been granted an exemption to be able to undergo a treatment containing a doping classed preparation.
"She had an abnormal growth," writes the union.
Norway today presented its troop to JVM, which will be settled in the Finnish Lahti on January 20-27. There is one of the ski world's greatest talents.
She is called Helene Marie Fossesholm, is 17 years old and has been compared several times with the Norwegian legend Marit Björgen.
- Fossesholm is the biggest talent we have seen in ten years, explained expert Petter Skinstad in an interview with Norwegian ABC at the end of last year.
Before JVM, the Norwegian ski association now chooses to go out with new information about her background. In a press release, they explain that Helene Marie Fossesholm has been treated with growth hormone for just under three years.
"During the period December 2014 to September 2017, Helene Marie Fossesholm received treatment with the growth hormone. Helene has been examined by pediatricians in hospitals since she was 8-9 years old because she was very short-lived. When she was 13.5 years old she was 137.5 She was treated with growth hormone, Helene is now 151 centimeters long , "the union writes in the press release .
"Helenes treatment contains a preparation that is listed on Wada's list of prohibited preparations. It is very strict requirements for getting permission to use such medication in Norway. she met all Wada's criteria. "
Åsa Thelaus is a doctor in the Swedish junior national team. She comments on the details of Fossesholm like this when SportExpressen reaches her:
- I do not have the details, but my comment is that we in Sweden work with very healthy individuals and we follow the RF's anti-doping laws. That's how we work.
- We must relate to the rules that exist. About Wada approves a dispensation so ... it is clear that there will be discussions with regard to growth hormones, but it depends on which stage it gets and on what indications. But I can't comment on it when I myself don't have a detailed check. We follow RF's and Wada's rules.
In the press release Norway also tells that Kristine Stavås Skistad, another of their greatest talents, has received medical treatment. There it is about two preparations - ethinyl estradiol and primolut - to "accelerate puberty and to have a controlled plant" .
The preparations are not doped class, according to the union.
19-year-old Kristine Stavås Skistad, which, unlike Fossesholm, is very long, has already had the chance in the world cup this season and was in the sprint finals in Lillehammer.
The Norwegian Association writes in the press release that both Fossesholm and Stavås Skistad together with families have approved that they go out with the information and they ask not to have to comment on their medication further.
